Mercedes unveiled the W14 with a special presentation on home turf. Unsurprisingly, the team’s 2023 F1 car is (you guessed it) red. Treating us to a Valentine’s Day launch, Ferrari put on a live demonstration of the SF-23 in action. Not straying far from the team’s traditional blue, yellow and red livery, the Red Bull 2023 car appeared more or less as predicted.
The reigning double world champions launched the RB19 with a showcase version in New York. There are some familiar looks and exciting new designs on the grid this year - which one is your favourite? This is especially important when comparing it to the 2020 liveries of Haas or Williams, which everyone as expecting to be similar in 2021, although this didn’t turn out to be the case.Įither way, this is a good design move for the team and hopefully the Hinwil-based team give Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi a more competitive car so this gets some decent airtime.All the 2023 F1 liveries have been revealed, and we’ve seen the cars out on track in Bahrain during testing. Keeping the maroon halo also means it’s easily distinguishable. The switch to white for sponsors ORLEN also means that they don’t stand out like a sore thumb in being a different shade of red to what the Alfa Romeo had in 2020. The shade of maroon is also better than last season, which was slowly creeping towards Ferrari red territory. The colours may not have changed since Alfa Romeo joined forces with Sauber in 2018, but swapping the white and maroon changes the dynamic of the livery completely. Haas, who will once again run Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, finished 10th in last year’s championship, and were the only team not to score. Nine of the 10 teams on the grid are represented, with the revised curvature and shapes of the 2022 car giving these much-loved liveries a completely new feel. To paraphrase George Russell, in all honesty I’m a massive fan of this! The livery is an evolution of last year’s predominantly white design.
